It seems like an eternity has passed since last weekend. You get caught up in the current of the week and face the grind. It’s a complete gear shift, and I am getting better at remembering who I am at the end of the day.
I’m always excited to play with fashion during my off hours when I can ditch my scrubs. I’m inspired by art deco, 60’s mod aesthetic, and goth girl vibes.
Last weekend I played two shows opening for touring bands. I opened for Asylum 213 last year and I was invited back to the bill this year. They are from Richmond, Virginia and I first met them in 2023, they had emailed me about opening for them but I didn’t see the email in time and they had already booked other acts. I went to the show to check them out and had a good time. This year we played at Judd’s City Tavern in Lakewood, OH on Saturday July 19th with Cool Party Forever. It was a fun night with perfect summer weather. There was a patio and good vibes all around. I ended the night at Cilantro Taqueria and had a burrito bowl to satisfy my post-gig hunger!
On Sunday I was excited to play at the Treelawn in Euclid, OH with Sparrow Blue all the way from Canada! This was a special show since I was accompanied by Jessica Jane on cello. It was magical to hear the bass lines interpreted through the cello.
Meanwhile I’ve been navigating a busy work week, preparing to get back into the studio in August, and getting ready to play at Wickyards, a funeral home turned venue, this Saturday!
I also have costume projects in the works for the music videos I am working on. I’m drawing sorry boards and collecting supplies for set designs.
It’s been a busy summer and we are still getting massive heat waves.
Amongst all the chaos I am still working through my veterinary technician classes and assisting for spay and neuter surgeries. Tomorrow I will be helping at a shelter!
Thanks for being along for the ride!
