1.17.26 A Surprise Gig to Start the Year!

Last weekend I was asked at the last minute to open a female-fronted show after a band unfortunately had to cancel. I was excited to get back on stage after taking a break for a month over the holidays, as I am preparing for the album release this year. I played a solo electric set opening for The Jo Shmos, Twin Atomic, and Girl Cologne at Musica in Akron, Ohio.

I was elated to see a sizable crowd there, although it was difficult to get on stage to open the show alone knowing that my performance was not what they were expecting. I added a couple songs to my set that I have not played with my full band that we recorded for the album.

Most importantly, I was able to connect with talented musicians and get back into the swing of things. I ran into a few friends at the show, and it was refreshing to see them and realize that we are all struggling together during these difficult times. As we tread through the uncertainty, we feel isolated. This night was a reminder that we are not alone. Our sentiments are shared and supported through our friends, even though we may not see them as often as we would like.

Tonight is our first full band show at the Maple Grove Tavern in Maple Heights, OH. There’s a snowstorm coming with a magnitude that is being heavily debated. It’s not due until the wee hours of tomorrow morning, so we are carrying on with the show despite the impending snow!
